Hal Brickman is a great counselor and truly advocated for both of us and our relationship throughout all of our sessions. His approach was thoughtful and easy to follow. He listened to our concerns and organized the sessions in a meaningful way to cover many of our needs. The feedback he provided was positive and professional. I really feel a great sense of relief. I would definitely recommend Hal to others looking for couples counseling.

I went to therapy to work on issues I've been struggling with my whole life but never really thought I could get through. Since working with Allia I've been making changes I truly never thought I was capable of. You deserve this kind of help- she is the real deal and I would recommend her to anyone.

I read rave reviews about Allia and during a really tough time for my anxiety, I finally decided to take the plunge and see her. I regret not going years earlier. Allia is an incredible psychotherapist who has transformed the way I manage my anxiety and depression.

Hal is one of the best in town. I had a lot of irrational fears that were preventing me from enjoying my life. I was withdrawn and would not go out with my friends. After just 3 sessions with Hal, I began to feel better and was able to slowly hang out with my friends a little at a time. It felt so nice to catch up with friends over a cup of tea. He is too good.

Hal is extremely wonderful. Having constant back pain, I sought every type of solution; injections, inversion tables, medicine. Nothing seemed to help! Getting desperate I called Hal Brickman to setup an appointment.

He sat me on a comfy couch and had a normal conversation. He was able to conclude that an increased amount of stress was the cause of the pain, hence nothing else was helping. With his guidance, a month later I have no back pain! I have continued to see him as I consider him a close friend now.

My partner and I have been going through a rocky patch and he's helped us truly listen to each other and has challenged us to look at ourselves, not just one another. Hal is really knowledgable and I got the sense there was nothing he hasn't seen. Everything we've brought up he's had helpful insight in, and just seems to get me. And my husband feels the same way. He has a great office in a convenient location (I see him in Forest Hills) and I'm just very thankful we found him.

My boyfriend and I went to Hal about 6 weeks ago the first time for couples counseling. I had had a series of unhealthy relationships prior to my current boyfriend and it was preventing me from fully letting him in. I didn't realize that at the time, but through therapy I've learned the affect of my abusive past and have been able to see my boyfriend for who he is and am working on opening up and letting him in. Hal is so kind while also honest and is providing the perfect mix of challenging and support to help use get to the root of our issues and move past them. We will continue to see Hal and I'm so looking forward to new discoveries and results 🙂
